Getting to Berlin

Arriving by plane

Berlin airport BER is serviced by both large airlines as well as low-cost carriers. Transfer into Berlin is available by public transport via bus, local and long-distance trains.

Arriving by rail

Berlin Hauptbahnhof is well connected to the German high-speed rail network of DB Deutsche Bahn. Apart from saver tickets (restricted to specific trains), a cheaper option for a flexible ticket is afforded by the Event Ticket, which can be booked through Visit Berlin.
Prices for May 2023 will become available after the tarrif and schedule change in mid-December 22.

The private operator Flixtrain offers a limited network inside Germany and also serves Berlin.

Arrival by long-distance coach

The central coach station Zentrale Omnibusbahnhof Berlin is located slightly outside the city center, near the fairground and the Funkturm..

There will be no central starting point for trips and coach tours, as we will aim to be enviromentally friendly by using public transport (and probably often quicker, too).
The BVG 7-day ticket is an excellent option. Choose your accomodation with a view towards good bus, local rail or tram connections to get around Berlin.

Accomodation

Berlin has a huge offering of Hotels and tourists accomodation, AirBnB hosts need to be licensed to offer accomodation in Berlin.

Accomodation can be booked directly at the hotel or via the usual hotel and accomodation portals. As people tend to book accomodation by individual preferences, we have not secured room blocks, with one exception:

Block of rooms at the  CVJM Jugendgästehaus (YMCA Hostel)

The YMCA youth hostel (public transport: U Nollendorfplatz) is holding four single rooms and 15 four-bed rooms for us.

Four-bed rooms consist of two bunk beds measuring 90x190cm each, with a footboard.

The YMCA hostel in Schöneberg, Karl-Heinrich-Ulrichs-Straße 10, offers participants a 10% discount on stays of four nigts up and 15% on stays of seven and more nights. This includes pre- and post-Europatreffen nights. There are childens´s rates available.

Where in Berlin should we stay for events?

There will be no central starting point for trips and coach tours, as we will aim to be enviromentally friendly by using public transport (and probably often quicker, too).
The BVG 7-day ticket is an excellent option and our recommendation. Choose your accomodation with a view towards good bus, local rail or tram connections to get around Berlin.
